K:/Schnee-markt>
Proof at last that this Christmas market does exist. Hurry on down, because these guys can pack up and be gone before you know it. The rang of Sheep's fleece is excellent if you're looking to replace your old one. Crepes, wine and cheese stalls for the rest of you. Location: Kreuzberg (Skalitzer Str. / Emmaus Kirche).

K:/Spaceman>
Some wayward spaceman floated past this building and spray-painted a picture of himself. How else did it get there?

K:/Boxhagener Platz Market>
The 'Boxi' market seems to alternate between a food and baked goods market and a flea market. The food one is impressive, the flea one not so much. Man-hugs behind the stalls do not alternate.
K:/Hot Dog and Soup>
Located in Friedrichshain (other side of the river to Kreuzberg), this place, as its name suggests, serves hot dogs and home-made soups, and not much else! Perfect place to eat and then hit up the Boxi market :)

K:/Oberbaumbrücke>
The Oberbaumbrücke joins Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain over the river spree. It used to be one of the borders between East and West Germany. The End of the U-Bahn (metro) line used to be Schlesisches Tor, so as not to cross into East Germany. Now that the Red army has gone, the only danger in crossing this bridge comes from an angry beggar who spits at/on you when you don't cough up your spare change. Charming.

K:/The Russian Bar / El Bar Ruso>
Right in the heart of Kreuzberg, this bar has excellent Russian food and even better Moscow Mules. Live music, to boot.

k:/Security Door / Puerta Blindada>
This door is actually our front door. The building is an old steel factory and I guess they had a few scraps left over to fashion a door. 100% guaranteed to withstand any zombie apocalypse.*

k:/Can I get a 1/4 lb of... / ¿Me pones 1/4 de...>
...wasabi balls - crunchy round bite-size snacks made of, you guessed it, wasabi. For the faint of heart[burn], don't shy away - they're only wasabi coated! One of the best things I've eaten so far, along with the falafel and the hummus.
k:/Oranienstraße>
Oranienstraße is full of cafés, bars, clubs and designer clothing stores. Apparently graffiti and squalor are SO in this year.
k:/SO36>
Back in the 70s, rumour has it that Bowie and Iggy Pop spent a fair bit of time here. SO = 'südost' (south east) and the 36 = Kreuzberg's ZIP code. Not to be confused with a place where 30-somethings hang out, this bar was the heart of the Berlin Punk scene, and as you can see on the left of the picture, still features live music.
